It's been a busy day today. I took #1 for his appointment today and all is well. By well I mean what I've been thinking is going on with his body was confirmed and the Doctor is putting him on Miralax. He got an xray taken today and we go back in about another week to get another so he can have before and after shots done to make sure the Miralax is doing it's job. It's nice to finally be moving in a direction that will be helpful to him. The Doctor mentioned that after his system is cleaned out he'll probably start eating more-I was laughing so hard when she said this! I said,"He has no trouble eating now!" I suppose you could say are children come from parents who are very healthy eaters.
Oh and I saw Valerie while I was there. Hi Valerie! Sorry I was in such a daze while I was there, afterwards I was wishing I had given you a hug and told you how wonderful you looked.
#2 wasn't feeling very well yesterday. She didn't eat breakfast or dinner, which had me a bit worried. She says she's doing fine today but doesn't seem quite up to snuff. She goes tomorrow for her follow up from the last surgery so we'll be sure to talk to the dr. about it.
A friend of mine watched the kids while #1 had his dr. appt. and afterwards I watched her child while she ran in for some blood work. They just got a puppy yesterday, so we got to dog sit too. He was so cute! A little Jack Russell terrier. This is the thrid time this week the kids have really had "dog time" with some else's pet. Mom, Dad you'll be happy to know it's just confirming my thoughts on bringing our dog back out here. :)

Baby it's Hot outside
Yeah, I'm sure you are all looking forward to summer. But just think of the sweltering August heat-are you really looking forward to that? We went to James' softball game today and the sweat was dripping down on us non players, I felt sorry for the poor guys playing! We've also been dealing with hazing conditions due to what Kilauea is putting out.
#4 has quite the fascination with toilets. He's not so much interested in using them to go potty these days. They are more useful for other things. For example to get that dishrag wet to wash the table with or to give your baby doll a bath. Bet you didn't know these things, not sure where he learned them either. So if you happen to be visiting I would ask that you please shut the bathroom door because I don't know what he'll come up with next!
You may be unaware that there has been a big debate on what flooring we want to use downstairs. Ok, so not so much a debate but indecision on what to do. When James was deployed I tore out the carpet in the boys room. It was in really bad shape and had to go so they've just had the lovely concrete floors underfoot since then. Concrete is fine, it's cool to touch which is great in this climate. We happen to have a few paint cans downstairs because we took the popcorn ceiling off and are in the process of painting them. The children got the idea to load up some paint cans in their big dump trucks and were driving them around the house. #3 threw a can and it exploded on the floor. It happened to be the concrete floor. So his floor is now half painted. This is the "in" thing now-think we should do the same for the other rooms? Maybe he was being a creative genius and not just a punk kid;)

Lego play
The kids were hard at play while I worked on supper tonight. Although we didn't get around to pictures until after dinner and baths.
Here's #1 and his Star Wars flyer. We had watched part of Star Wars on Sunday so it was high on his mind.

He had started a pirate picture over the weekend. He got the idea from Pirate's things to make and do.

#2 made a house.

#3 and #4 deconstructed their creations before I could snap a picture.

Food and Fun
I made a couple new things this week that got a big thumbs up from the family. First was suppose to be a bacon and feta stuffed chicken breast. But the first chicken didn't butterfly that well so I just cut it up into small bit sized pieces. The next two chicken breast I managed to butterfly well but I went ahead and also cut them up into bit size pieces then drizzled a little oil and sprinkled some salt and pepper and basil and mixed it together. Then I crumbled up some turkey bacon and feta cheese on top and cooked in the oven. Very yummy!!
Now for the next item I have a real recipe for you to follow if you are the type who likes to follow a real plan. I made this bread, so good, especially with some apple butter on top!
#2 and #3, ready for bed last night

One of the new lamps in our home. We have a set of three, all different sizes.

He loves putting on these boots and dancing and stomping on the wood floor. Grammy, maybe you could look for some in his size this summer-of course he probably won't be able to get those on himself!

God is in control!
That is what my 3 year old was singing this morning(along to the radio) as we started our day. How true and what a great way to turn my mind and cares to Him. To hear my sweet little guy singing these words with all his might. We dropped the boys off at a friends home and they seem to have had a great day visiting -we will have to make an effort to get together more often!
James, #2 and I set off for the hospital where we got to wait. They had taken her off the admitting list and put her on the wait list, apparently there were no beds available. Weren't sure if we were going to get in today and of course the thought goes through mind(as I'm sure it would any parents mind) well maybe she's not suppose to have the surgery and everything is ok. Then all a sudden the nurse comes in and says they'll take us and they want us NOW. So we speed through all the paperwork and head to OR. #2 is skipping down the hallway, she hasn't a care in the world. She did wonderful, they were able to give her the sleeping gas before any IV's so she was a pretty happy girl. We head off to the waiting room. Then decide to go grab something from the cafeteria to eat as we hadn't had breakfast and the little snack food we brought wasn't going to tide us over until the afternoon. As we are heading back to the waiting room I see a dr walk across the hall and think to myself 'that looks alot like #2's dr. Turns out it was, she was done already. The doc couldn't find anything to remove! Yes, you heard that right!! The mass that has been showing up on all the testings, the latest test was done last week-and since that test it has disappeared!! Thank you Lord for healing !! Thank you everyone for your prayers!!! I am so happy and excited that The Lord has not only healed #2 but he gave her such a good day. She wasn't filled with all the anxiety as last time and did so very well. Praise the Lord!!
Oh, did I mention- she did so well she is at home now. No overnight stays for us, she is sleeping comfortably in her bed.

Church of oprah
I've gotten this email a few times and someone sent me the link to the book website today. So I thought I'd share it in case some of you all hadn't seen it.
Don't Drink the Kool-aid
I got another email today that I thought I should post with this. This is from a Pastor and is a Warning to Oprah, he talks to her about her beliefs in serious and loving way.

Prayers and Books
First I have a couple prayer requests. My mom was in an accident today. I guess she got rear ended. Dad said it looks like the car will be written off as a loss and that mom is starting to feel sore from the accident.
#2's surgery is scheduled for 9am on Friday. This could be bumped back but is the plan for now. Please pray for #2 and all the surgical team.
Now onto the fun stuff: books! I have some books to share for adults and they aren't Usborne books*gasp* see I do have variety in my life;)
The first is what's the difference? - Christianbook.com Search
I'm reading this in a bible study I am in. It is very interesting, the point is to understand other religions so you can be a witness to them. I am learning more about other religions in this study then I did taking a comparative religion class in college. I find it interesting to see how some religions have twisted or taken the Bible out of context. I can see sometimes how it could be easy to do but then for them to get so many followers that are being lead astray...just breaks my heart really. This is a great book to read with other Christians so you get many points of views on everything that comes up.
The kids and I are reading The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis reading this book and reading what's the difference is very timely. The older kids and I have been enjoying this book-so look there I did recommend a kid book too.
The other book I'm reading is in Chronicles of the Kings Series by Lynn Austin. These are great books, I've read one and half so far! They are a very emotional read, I usually cry during the course of reading them. You can check out more reviews in the link.
