This is the day, this is the day that the Lord hath made.....

sorry. Got the song stuck in my head.

Good things about today:
*homemade bread
*washed the van-love the clean van!
*cleaned the floors upstairs-ahh, clean floors
*played in the pool with the kids
*cuddled and read stories with each child
*grilled chicken and zucchini for supper

Not so fun/good things of the day:
*cleaning up the many spills
*walking with bare feet on sidewalk-causing feet to blister(yes it's that hot again)
*VOG
*listening to whine/tantrums

Woohoo, the good things win!! Although I'm not sure what it means when two of my things are food related! Now off to try to figure out this hand applique stuff and get ready for LOST.

Some more photo's from Sunday

I had wanted a picture of the kids and I together. The picture didn't happen until we changed into old clothes so we could go to the beach. We went right at the end of the day, hoping to catch the sunset.
At the end of the slide is #1 and #2 with their 'quilts'. We read Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt this week and they decided to make quilts after we read the story.

Some highlights of our day

The kids have been anxiously awaiting today, they've had grand plans on decorations and what to serve.(I must give #2 credit, although the others piped in she was the one who master minded of the whole thing.)
We got home from church and I got the hot water ready for our tea and rested while they finished some details. They put a clean tablecloth on the table with some nice napkins and then decided to make place cards and name tags. We had a nice center piece with some rose buds they had made. They then finished making the cucumber sandwiches and we sat down for tea. It was all rather lovely and I was really happy how they were able to carry out all the details they wanted too. We did let daddy drink his soda at our tea as you'll note in one picture-we still haven't managed to convert him into a tea drinker:D

Some of the flowers on the back deck. I enjoyed my morning tea with them and we made some homemade ice cream this afternoon out here.
