Some highlights of our day

The kids have been anxiously awaiting today, they've had grand plans on decorations and what to serve.(I must give #2 credit, although the others piped in she was the one who master minded of the whole thing.)
We got home from church and I got the hot water ready for our tea and rested while they finished some details. They put a clean tablecloth on the table with some nice napkins and then decided to make place cards and name tags. We had a nice center piece with some rose buds they had made. They then finished making the cucumber sandwiches and we sat down for tea. It was all rather lovely and I was really happy how they were able to carry out all the details they wanted too. We did let daddy drink his soda at our tea as you'll note in one picture-we still haven't managed to convert him into a tea drinker:D

What follows is some of the photo's that #1 has taken this week. Many got deleted by me but there are still quite a few to show!
We have many new lego creations. Which I'd describe in more detail but that was at the beginning of the week and I've already forgotten some of it.
Today we put some shaving cream on a couple cookie sheets. This was mainly for #3 as a fun way to practice writing letters. But we did let everyone have some fun playing in the shaving cream.
The older kids and I went swimming in the afternoon, James and #4 were suppose to join us but they ended up taking a long nap! Looking forward to improving everyones swimming skills this summer.
#2 is planning on having a tea party next Sunday. She picked out many craft projects to work on this next week so that we'll have proper decorations for a princess-like tea. We are thinking of making some cucumber sandwiches also. The kids have been talking in loud whispers about what kinds of treats they want to make for a mother's day surprise, so I'm not sure if we'll be making any other treats for the tea.

tea party

I made some oatmeal bars from this book. It's a great book for kids or someone just learning to cook. Very good(easy to follow) instructions and tips about basic kitchen information.
After they were done baking #2 asked if we could have a tea party and eat those for our treats. She got a new set for Christmas so she's looking for every opportunity to try them out! She wanted to make name cards and she gave us all a little thank you present for coming. The oatmeal bars turned out great, as did the tea!
#4 is still under the weather...looks like he might have one of those long lasting things. Thought he was getting better Monday but it really hit him again that night. Not much sleep going on around here for us.

Tea Time

I received an invitation for Tea yesterday afternoon. Here was the hostess.

We all enjoyed our tea and crackers. I think we will look up some recipes this week and have a real tea time. Although the boys enjoyed the crackers and invisible tea. Well, all but one. Daddy just doesn't enjoy tea and kept doing wacky things with his cup. We had to have a 'talk' with him about manners around our 'table'.




I6, lost another tooth friday night. It was so tiny, you can hardy notice it's missing! Her teeth have always looked nice a straight, it makes me sad when she loses them and gets the crazy adult teeth. Now when I7 losses his I don't mind as much because I'm hoping they come in nicer!
